The compex is located to the northeast of the city's historic center, only a fifteen minute walk from San Miguel parish. The path leads through the Santa Maria plaza, which is flanked by the Hacienda and the chapel of the same name, the Obraje granary and the amphitheater. Even today, this plaza is the one that best preserves San Miguel de Allende's inviting provincial character. On the way one also passes the exclusive luxury spa hotel, built in the area around the eighteenth century dam, that is the source of the arroyo del Obraje. This area is also the entranceway to the Rincon de Santa Maria enclave. From that point on the riverbanks lush vegetation creates an atmosphere of spaciousness and privacy.
